Frequently Asked Questions

When will the new season olive oil be available?

Our extra virgin olive oil is harvested annually and allowed to settle naturally before bottling. The new harvests are available from October onwards.

Can I pre-order olive oil?

Yes. By placing a pre-order, you reserve olive oil from the upcoming harvest. Orders will be dispatched once the oil is ready in October.

What varieties of olives is the oil made from?

Our oil is made from a mix of koroneiko (known as the King of the Olives) and kalamata olives.

When is the oil pressed?

Our olives are picked every year in May/June depending on when they are ready. They are then instantly taken to be pressed at a nearby processor so they are extra virgin and cold pressed.

Why do you wait until October to ship the olive oil?

After pressing, the olive oil is allowed to settle naturally. This traditional process helps preserve the oil’s quality, flavour, and character before bottling.

Where is your olive oil produced?

Our olives are grown and harvested at Agronio Farm in Heathcote, Victoria, using traditional growing methods and sustainable farming practices.

What are your delivery options?

We offer:

  • Australia-wide courier delivery, with shipping costs calculated based on the weight of your order and your location.
  • Free collection from Reservoir and Agronio Farm by appointment.
  • We offer free delivery for orders over $400 within 20 kilometres of Reservoir (3073).

How should I store olive oil?

Store olive oil in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Proper storage helps maintain freshness and flavour.

How long does olive oil last?

When stored correctly, extra virgin olive oil is best enjoyed within 18–24 months of harvest.

What makes your olive oil different?

Our olive oil is made on land that does not use chemicals, pesticides or fertilisers. It is pressed within a few hours of being picked. It is produced from carefully harvested olives, cold-pressed, and naturally settled before bottling. We focus on quality, freshness, and traditional farming practices rather than mass production. Also, the olives are cared for by a proud Greek man who grew up in the Greek olive groves and knows quality.

Are you certified organic?

No, we are not certified organic.

Agronio Farm is a small family-run farm inspired by traditional Greek farming practices. We grow our olives and produce using methods that have been passed down through generations, without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilisers.

While we are not certified organic, we believe our farming practices speak for themselves. Certification is a personal business decision, and for us, our focus has always been on producing high-quality, healthy food while caring for the land. We invite our customers to judge our products by their quality, flavour, and the way they are grown.

Why are there black specks, sediment or floating particles in my olive oil?

This is completely normal and is a sign that your olive oil has been minimally processed.

The small dark particles, sediment or “floaties” are tiny pieces of olive fruit and natural solids that remain in the oil after pressing. Because we allow our olive oil to settle naturally rather than heavily filtering it, some of this sediment may remain in the bottle or tin.

These natural particles are harmless and do not indicate spoilage or contamination. In fact, many olive oil producers and consumers regard the presence of some sediment as a sign of a fresh, less processed oil.

Over time, sediment will naturally settle to the bottom of the container. This is particularly common during the months following harvest and is a normal part of the olive oil’s journey from grove to bottle.

To maintain the best flavour and quality, store your olive oil in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat.
