Our Story

About us

A family farm

Built on family, meaningful work in union with natural cycles and Greek tradition, AGRONIO is a truly family-run farm.

My dad Yiannis is the beating heart of the operation, caring for the land, the trees, and every part of the farming process day in and day out.

Dad grew up in rural Northern Greece where the humble olive was central to everyday life.

He cares for the 800 olive trees without chemicals (which is quite a feat for one man!), he also organises a group of pickers every year to pick the olives, drives them to the processor and then bottles, labels and ships them off around Victoria.

In a world fast losing connection to nature, I’m proud of seeing my father use his hands and heart to tend to the fruits of the earth with love.

My mother, Angie, helps with the packaging and preparation of our products, making sure every order is handled with care.

My brother Tasos is always available for the hands-on work and practical support around the farm.

And I (Anatolia, by the way) support with customer service, marketing, website and systems.

Alongside us, friends and extended family regularly lend a hand with picking and pressing to help ensure our farm and produce are the very best they can be.

Here’s Dad, Patrick and I after completing another grueling olive harvest in 2022.

The Agronio Olive Grove

We have owned the two Agronio farms on Stodddart Road since 2012 and 2018 where Dad brings his exuberant, ceaseless energy into constantly caring for, pruning, nurturing the olive trees and land.

Our logo and name

The face on our logo is Demeter, the ancient Greek goddess of agriculture and the harvest. The Ancient Greek for the ‘Earth-mother’ is written Δημήτηρ as you can see in the coin.

Dad made up the name Agronio as a tip of the hat to the Greek ἀγρός meaning ‘field, countryside, or farm’.

We have won Gold in 2025, 2024, 2022 and Silver in 2021 in the Australian International Olive Awards

Here is Dad and my brother Tas in Tasmania receiving the award for 2022 Reserve Champion from the Australian International Olive Awards.

We are proud to announce that our 2025 harvest again won GOLD at the AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL OLIVE AWARDS.
